We are all going through difficult times. A lot of people now practice remote work which means they spend most of their time isolated inside their apartments. Your pets might be wondering why you don’t go out anymore, and actually stay home with them. Needless to say, your dog is going to be super happy about it, but your cat, well, they just don’t care that much. Today we share some tips to keep your pets and yourself healthy during the lockdown.

Do some exercises outside occasionally

We need to follow the rules, this is the first priority. But the rules say we can still go out once a day with our pets (at least here in France).

Now if you own a dog, move your lazy ass and give your dog some fresh air because they deserve it. Remember that once you go outside, practice always the social distancing, and try to get some quality time. Your dog can wander as much as it wants but it has to do some exercises. Find a quiet place without so many people, throw some frisbees, run some laps, that should keep your dog happy.

What if I have a cat, you ask? Normally, your cats can go out by themselves, but try to make sure they don’t go too far during these hard times.

Provide enough basic nutrients

This might sound obvious, but it’s true that during this unprecedented time when we only need to buy us essential things, we might forget to take care of our pets properly. If you still don’t know how to provide your pets with an adequate amount of food, check out our ultimate guide on how to choose the best dog food.

Make sure to keep your dog hydrated when it starts to get hotter, or after some outside activities. We could use this spare time during the lockdown to know our pets better, so try to take care of them.

Keep a strict rule about workspace boundary

You should keep your pets away from your working space if you want to stay on the same productivity level. Easier said than done. Your cats could repeatedly distract you from completing that important report, or your dogs can’t stand one single moment without your attention. Keeping a boundary between workspace and home space is the number one rule when it comes to remote working. Do the same thing to your pet, keep it in your home space. If you have someone else to keep it busy, that’s great. If not, make it get used to your absence, it will be the same as you go out to work. Keep it in another room, find a work corner to cut down your presence, do anything you could to protect the boundary.

All work and no play makes Jack a no longer pet-lovers

We talked about spending quality time outside, now we need to do that inside as well. Working from home means that you’ll have more time, for your family, for yourself, and your pets. Try to do things you never have time to do: groom their hair, give them a good bath, brush their teeth. This is a self-reflection time, so you should know everything around you better, including your beloved animal.

Give your pets small things to make it happy

What are exactly those small things? Now everyone’s at home and buying things online never comes in so handy. Give your pets a treat by choosing the best piece of clothing, or the most good-looking lash, or simply a new food bowl. Your pets will be super exciting having new things around, not to mention the hygiene benefits. We are preparing an article about the top 10 things you can buy online for your pets, so please be patient.
